The SGPA, or SOMERSET GABLES PARENTS ASSOCIATION, INC. Board is YOUR “PTA”. 

 

The SGPA is NOT a governing board, but an elected/appointed group of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers, working together with our school administration to help provide positive support to our Somerset Gables Academy parents, teachers, and staff, as well as community involvement, and helping to provide clear communications for both parents and the school alike.

 

The Somerset Gables Parents Association Board consists of a variety of volunteers, including parents, teachers, and staff representatives of Somerset Gables Academy.

PRIMARY GOAL: The primary focus of the SGPA is the raising of funds to help ensure there are Teaching Assistants in Somerset Gables classrooms each school year, through the ACT Fund.

​

The Somerset Gables Parents Association, Inc. is a registered non-profit 501c3 organization, which means donations are tax deductible.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the SGPA is to enhance and maximize the educational experience of every child enrolled in Somerset Gables Academy by:

 

• Promoting open communication and understanding between parents and staff at Somerset Gables

 

• Sponsoring assistance to teachers in classroom settings (through the ACT Fund)

 

• At times, holding fundraisers and events for any supplemental educational materials needed, experiences, and the Assistants for Classroom Teachers Fund (ACT Fund)

 

• Supporting school and family social interaction

 

• Provide a non-biased forum for sharing information

 

It is our belief that the team effort of the SGPA furthers Somerset Gables goal of providing the best possible learning environment for our children!

GET INVOLVED!

• Become an SGPA MEMBER - pay your annual dues online each school year.

​

• SGPA Board: ONLY SGPA Members may apply for election to vacant SGPA Board positions. SGPA members will be informed if/when a Board position becomes available. ONLY SGPA members can vote for persons running for board positions. ​​

​​

• VOLUNTEER to help at one of a variety of SGPA related activities held throughout the school year. (ex: Farmers Market Bake Sale, Parent Socials, Family Fun Day, Community Service, etc.)

• ATTEND the SGPA Coffee Chat Meetings
